Superfoods for Preventing Alzheimer's

The Mediterranean Diet is based on a HIGH INTAKE of:

  • vegetables
  • legumes
  • fruits
  • cereals
  • fish
  • monounsaturated fatty acids such as olive oil;

And a LOW INTAKE of:

  • saturated fatty acids
  • dairy products
  • meat
  • poultry
  • mild to moderate amounts of alcohol.

  1. I agree with this nice lady. I am a 56 y.o. male that resides in Notheastern PA. My biggest complaint is the perception that once you have this diagnosis, that your life is over. In my fourth year and still driving as allowed by my Doctor's. Instead oftelling us what we can't do, think about all the good we still have to share! Don Miller

    1. Hi Don, You are already sharing the positives that are essential to all of our lives. We all know lots of our friends who were alive 4 years ago and have passed away. They did not have Alzheimers. More people are beginning to understand that people with Alzheimers can lead a normal life maybe longer that they can. When your friends and colleagues see how well your are doing and how open you are about Alzheimers they now realise that your life is not over. People like you are an inspiration to everyone who has a setback of any kind.

  2. Thank you, Mr Miller. My mother had Alzheimer's and passed away in December 2011. Looking back, we think she had as early as 2000. She wasn't diagnosed until a couple of years before she passed; if only we had known.
